Welcome to Belonging Freedom v e r s i o n 1. Humans were very curious of the haunted things discovered on the Edgar intersection. That discovery, led to a tragedy that ended all man kind. Only the canines live now;; in four bands doing their best to survive. Some of them, are elementals. All fighting for their breaths as the war comes closer by the day.

The water trailed out to touch her toes, then her paws. . .falling back to the massive sea with great waves and silver foam. The water worked up to her ankles, staring out at the forever-going line of blue. Where the sky touched the water, it lit up with an aray of misty rose and orange, baby-blue and glowing white. Her right eye blinked alone, without the other, her sight half the regular she sought for everyday. The sun was bright and every growing in the dawn, letting the gold light spread over the ocean in an amber V.
She sat back on her haunches, her mind overwhelmed with more things. How the earth almost came to an end. . .the mass explosion. . .how all meaning seemed to disappear on the spot when the last human breathed their final breath. . .
What was going to happen? What was going to happen to everyone? The Rejects, the Sypers, the other packs. What was going to happen to her? Hopefully nothing, except for a rightful feature in the war that was to take place by immediate legend. She wanted to help end it, conquer it. The elementals would parish. Not all of them. But at least the Sypers, they deserved the fate she would be the accomplice of :: the Sypers, of all elementals, were strong. But not strong enough to weild the power of the Rejects.
As she thought, her claws extracted, and came back again. Repeat. Her mood was depressed, almost dead, even. Senses tingled, her nose caught the scent of a seagull flying to the northeast. With her little power to almost "fly", the explosion had given her keener senses. There were running paws against the thin gravel road near the outskirts. A battle between two males over a lonely, scruffy femme. Ahh, the life of being an elemental was rough :: but worth everyone else's pain.

White paws stepped lightly over the ground, almost floating as if the figure were a simple ghost. Could have been, considering the huge amount of people and animals that had been killed in that explosion. Bones cracked as each leg stretched out for the walk, the large male had been sleeping for long hours these days. Black auds twitched forward, amber eyes staring into the distance. The whispers of the wind traveled to his mind, the concentrated look on his visage saying he could understand the little voices. Sand filled between his furry toes, and he knew he'd be chewing it out for days. Black tail curled over shaggy back as the large brujo came back to reality, leaving his thoughts buried in his dark mind. Amber eyes swept over the shore, auds listening to the soft lapping of the clear water. In the distance, a figure could be seen. The whiteness of her coat told him exactly who it was, the way she was relaxed. Quiet, quick paws brought him to her side and he looked out over the water, the sun beating down on it, illuminating the mist so it looked like fairy dust. Black auds folded in half, white jaws parted to drink in the shore scents. "It's a nice day. Calm, as if nothing happened." Silvery claws dug at the sand until the figure finally settled on laying down. Crossing his paws daintily, the large beast shifted his weight and position to glance at Poise full-on.

The presance was calm, welcoming. She reconized the sour, though almost mouth-watering scent anywhere. It was only to be Lucifer :: the reject leader. Her ears twitched to the sound of his voice when he said, It's a nice day. Calm, as if nothing had happened. Nothing. Ha! If nothing had happened, she wouldn't be able to fly, to hear him walk up to her on one of the most silent of all mornings. She let her head crane to look down at him, laying down with his paws crossed, letting the seafoam melt over the thin fur of his toes. She let her jaws open, then shut. What was she going to say? Protest over the fact that both of them were elementals? Just like the crude Sypers? Sometimes, she just couldn't let things get the best of her. It's a quiet dawn, but yes - it is nice I could say. There was a little edge to her voice, like the words weren't completly the truth she wanted him to hear.

The cool breeze floated from the water toward them, blowing the thinest line of fur back on his shoulders. His gaze was still on the pretty dalmatian, but he wasn't seeing her. Something else, maybe someone. Faint whiskers twitching in agitation, he refocused on Poise's eyes. Tail flicking slightly, he listened to her words. He guessed that they were supposed to be as calm and easy as his, but Lucifer could detect the tint of harshness. Ignoring it, he curled his lip out of habit, thinking of his next words. "It was hard for everyone, but good will come of it. You'll see." His words were to comfort her, but he found them twisting in his mind. Oh yes, good would come. For the Rejects! Immediately, he began thinking of his future plans for his pack to take over the streets, the rest of the dogs either joining them or falling under them. A smile pulled at the corner of those black lips, only for a second though as he demolished it wish his pink tongue, swiping it over his muzzle.

Yes, the good will come. She wanted to say the words aloud, but her mind wouldn't record the message to move her lips. Poise shifted her weight on her haunches, letting the breeze whip back her ears. The end will come for everyone, except for us of course. Her words were indeed calm, no hint of sterness, of strict expression. Nothing. Just Poise. She let herself slide down so her stomach was lining the sand, paws curled under her :: tail swept across her side. Blinking away the sunlight as it rose higher into the depths of the above, she continued :: Everyone indeed, especially the Sypers. When she spoke the rival pack's title, her lips curled over to bare her fangs briefly, like licking poison. The Sypers. Of all elementals born from the dreaded explosion, they were the largest group of them. The largest group of canines that actually thought they were helping the world. They couldn't undo what had happened. Undo the fact of their gifts. Such a waste.

Amber eyes glowed at her words. yes, she had been taught well, the explosion possibly bringing out the inner demon. Chuckling, Lucifer rose to his paws, rocking back on thin black haunches for a moment. He didn't speak, just stared out over the water. It all played about in his mind, the way things would be when he ruled the streets. He'd be sitting high on his throne, watching as the members of his empire did all the dirty work. Oh no, he's help of course. Wouldn't want everyone have fun but him! Glancing sideways at Poise, he imagined her with him, enjoying it all. Lady had been trusted since he met her, and even know she was pretty much like the leader next to him. However, he couldn't picture them actually liking each other. As always, Lucifer had his moments were he wanted to rip her throat out, even for no reason. Shrugging at his inner thoughts, he erased his plans from his mind and slid back down to rest on his stomach. "I like the way you think." His words dropped with acid, cold but admiring. Amber eyes glittered with hidden thoughts. "Alibi and the Sypers may be strong, but even they couldn't handle battle." They were too soft, doing nothing but wasting everyones time with words of encouragement and peace. When was she going to get off of her 'higher-than-thou' horse and face the real world, that Alibi?

She let herself nod in agreement. Thinking about the Sypers. They were always gathering more elementals :: teaching younger ones how to overcome their gifts. The pack was constantly getting stronger, bigger. But they wouldn't be enough of a challenge to the war. Alibi has one the strongest, and yet most strange of powers given after the explosion. She looked down at Lucifer, then out at the glowing sea. Alibi could mend minds, break them. Read them. She had experianced the pain, the agony of the experiance. She had encountered the leadess once. Just once. And her eyes were like dark orbs of blue-green. Different. Odd. Strange and yet disgusting. Disturbing, to have someone else go through your private thoughts. Private plans. Yet she can figure out what we are planning. Just concentration for her.

Lucifer nodded in agreement. Alibi had a strong element. A dangerous one, and he wanted it! If only he could take down the auburn-colored retrieve, he'd be able to use her for his own purposes. However, it was true that she was strong, and not good had giving up. With a heavy sigh that seemed to break his broad chest, the leader let his massive black-and-white head fall to his paws. Blinking liquid eyes, Lucifer continued to simply stare at one point in the water as he spoke to Poise. An ear was tilted in her direction so he wouldn't miss anything she said, and somehow her words managed to chill her slightly. "Yes, and that is why we must keep away from her. She may act like she is a goddess of some sort, but using her power to pry into everyone's mind is what will get her called out eventually." Personally, Alibi had never once used her power toward him, but only because he took the time to make sure he stayed away from her. Even before the explosion, he hadn't particularly liked the furry mutt.

She quickly let her spine ruffle, the top layer of her dappled fur rising, then falling again. The duck tolling female was odd, thinking of herself as a more important charrie. She was no more than a nightmare :: out to destroy everything that they had gained. It's not something to look forward too, her being in your head and things. Poise slid up to a stand and walked a few feet into the cool water, bowing down to lap up the tasty salt. In ankle-deep sea, she turned to look at Lucifer with her one blue-silver eye and her normal, ebony orb. That's why she needs to be out of the way.

Pushing himself back into a sit position, Lucifer leaned back on his haunches to watch was Poise stepped into the water. The rings that spilled out from the slim movement faded out, only to be stirred up again as the dalmatian turned to look at him. He found himself staring at her eyes, the one amber and the other ice. Nodding at her first words, he knew that Poise had been attacked by the Sypers leader, her mind at least. Why, he hadn't a clue. "Out of the way for now, at least." Moving to all fours, he dipped his head to the salt water and drank from it eagerly, as if the grains didn't bother him much anymore. Water was water. "She could be of some use, but I highly doubt she'd cooperate."

Cooperate? No. Use? Highly extreme. Poise would do almost anything to get her paws on Alibi. To pull her down to match the rank of a flee. She was higher, more powerful, but no match if she couldn't catch her. In the cool water, she laid down on her stomach, her paws outstretched towards the sand. The ocean wavered only past her knee-joints, the foam circulating around where her fur touched the water and vanished under the surface. She inclined her head downward, eyes shut, enjoying the sun bathing her damp coat. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she realizes she hasn't gained anything. The only gain :: the size of the Sypers. She wasn't any alliance with the quiet Poyleys, to Poise they were a bit worse than the band of elementals. If she had to choose, she'd destroy them both out of exsistance, letting herself control them like they were slaves. Which they would be, under the future rein of the Rejects. It's something to greatly look forward too.

Ah, how much they thought the same! Great minds do think alike, right? Lucifer could taste her words as if they were his own, agreeing a hundred percent. Their dreams seemed so close, yet so far away somehow. Watching the two packs, the Sypers and the Poyleys, fall beneath them would be so much fun. The Rebel pack wasn't a problem really, but they would be useful to strengthen the Rejects numbers. One thing Lucifer loved about Poise was how gentle she could seem, yet how twisted her mind really was. "Agreed." One word, filled with longing. "We have to wait though, until we can actually be sure we'll take her down." Even Lucifer, the power-hungry, greedy, head-strong demon of a leader knew when to wait. "Which will make it even nicer when we lose a very dear enemy." Snickering at this, the alaskan malamute gazed at his pack member, watching her simple movements as she lay in the water.

Such a powerful "leader" Alibi thought she was. Ha! She was no more than a mere elemental. Lucifer and her could excerise their abilities to match together in a battle that the Sypers, the Poyleys... wouldn't touch. They'd be too far ahead. The Rejects will win, Lucifer will rein, and Alibi will have to live under their command. What a sweet victory that would turn out to be. Yes, agreed.

Ah, such a light soul, she was. Another smile dared to escape onto his visage, but this time actually was allowed. Little did Poise know that Lucifer planned to crown her..princess..or the sort under him. She would make an excellent ruler, which is why he already gave her temporarily leader positions when he wasn't around. She'd be able to make her own decisions, lead part of the huge pack when the time came. Yes, he'd split the remaining dogs up quite evenly. Largest portion for himself, duh. Poise would get the next most important group, and then when someone worthy came along they would get the third part. Easier to rule this way, was it not? Shrugging at his own thoughts, he glanced back down to Poise. "Just a little bit longer."

She stood, letting the seawater drip from her stomach and legs, and strolled onto the sand to dry. Standing not so close to Lucifer, she shook off the water caught onto her skin, throwing it into all angles. The sun was almost hanging in the lower part of the sky, higher than before, letting the light glow over the water with a blinding glare. A little bit longer, and this war will officially begin. She let the words hang on her tounge, the bitter act sour against her buds. Poise stood in front of him, her leader, the Reject's leader, with only her toes touching the sea. Until then, I'm off to Burden, Lucifer. She bowed her upper neck downward, respecting him, lifting her crown and padding off towards the rubble streets.
